California Employment Law

Employment advice from a lawyer who takes the time to learn your business.

MRG Employment Law works with California employers and employees. You get direct access to your attorney, straight answers, and advice that fits how your workplace actually runs.

Who I Help

I represent both sides of the employment relationship, which means I know how these disputes look from across the table. That helps whether you're trying to prevent a claim or bring one.

Employers

Medical and dental practices, law firms, restaurants, and other small and mid-sized California businesses that want to get it right the first time.

  • Handbooks, policies and offer letters
  • Hiring, discipline and termination decisions
  • Wage and hour compliance, including classification and breaks
  • Leave, accommodation and the interactive process
  • Guidance through internal investigations
  • Responding to demand letters, agency charges and PAGA notices

Employees

Workers who think they've been treated unfairly and want a clear read on their options before deciding what to do.

  • Wrongful termination
  • Discrimination and harassment under FEHA
  • Retaliation and whistleblower claims
  • Unpaid wages, overtime and missed breaks
  • Disability accommodation and medical leave
  • Reviewing severance and separation agreements

Employment Compliance Audit

Most California employment claims start with something small. A policy that never got updated, a missed meal break, an employee who got called a contractor. The audit finds those problems before an employee's lawyer does.

  1. Intake call. We talk through your business, your team and anything that's already worrying you.
  2. Document review. I go through your handbook, offer letters, classification, timekeeping and pay practices, and required postings and notices.
  3. Written findings. You get a plain-English report that ranks issues by risk and tells you exactly what to fix.
  4. Walkthrough. We go over the report together and set priorities you can actually get done.

Flat fee. No surprises.

The audit is a single fixed fee that I quote up front, based on the size of your team. You know the full cost before we start.

MRG

Meghan Grim, Esq.

I've practiced law in California for more than a decade. My work has covered trial courts, the Courts of Appeal, and a lot of client counseling. Much of my recent work involves employment cases, including briefing plaintiff-side appeals in discrimination, harassment, retaliation and whistleblower matters.

Seeing how these cases play out at trial and on appeal shapes the advice I give. For employers, I know which mistakes turn into lawsuits. For employees, I know what a strong claim looks like and what it takes to prove one.

I started MRG Employment Law to work closely with a smaller group of clients. You'll deal with me directly, and I'll take the time to understand your business or your situation before telling you what to do.
